About Us

My father, Jack, and I founded Innovative Truck Products in 2009. The idea for the Bed Maxx started before that, when we were working together. As residential contractors, we were always looking for ways to make the job site more effcient. My dad hated to crouch down to work a saw, and he felt the 5 or 10 minutes to set up a work table was wasted. I, on the other hand, was frustrated by always having to drag a saw, a compressor, or some other heavy piece of equipment out of the truck bed. After months of discussion, our two goals became a single idea, the Bed Maxx.

We built a few prototypes, with the help of a friend that worked at a machine shop in Englewood. We made subtle changes, mostly for our own benefit. One day, not too long after, my dad was having coffee with a fellow contractor. He showed John the Bed Maxx, and told him how useful it had been. To my dad's suprise, John said "How much to build me one?"

2008 had been a good year for us. A few hailstorms had brought plenty of work to Colorado. I thought we could take some time off, to run with our new idea. We started with John's, we did some research, and made a few more improvements. We have been installing Bed Maxxes ever since.
